About Cedar

I’m a 5th generation Washingtonian with a family history on both sides of the mountains. My ancestors were Pioneers who came to Washington on the Oregon trail in the mid 1800s and I  grew up in Seattle.

I come from a medical family. My father is a retired anesthesiologist and pain management specialist and my sister is a nurse currently working in wound care. Our family dinners, as you might imagine, are usually fun and informative.

In the early 90s I was working for a vegan food service, chopping hundreds of pounds of vegetables during the day and at night I played music in bands around Seattle. Like many musicians or anyone who does repetitive motions, I developed tendinitis in both arms which became severe. Fellow musicians encouraged me to try acupuncture and that’s how my love of Chinese medicine began. I spent the next 7 years as a regular patient before deciding I wanted to study the medicine seriously.

In 2003 I started grad school and  graduated from the renowned Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine with a double Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine in 2006 and  came to the Tri Cities in 2007.

For 13 years I owned and operated the Living Water Acupuncture clinic & pharmacy and served the people of South Central Wa and North Eastern Oregon.

I closed during the pandemic and used that opportunity to hang out with my parents, helping them through an Alzheimer’s diagnosis.

I also used the time to do a deep dive into the pathophysiology of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and created an online course and coaching program to help women manage PCOS, boost their fertility and get their families started.

Nearly 30 years into this story, I’m still incredibly grateful for the journey and I consider it a great honor to be one of the links in a chain of  knowledge that spans thousands of years.
